Absolutly remove remorseless for the 15% dmg bonus to your poisons IMO. Remorseless is only up for something like 10-12 seconds after making a kill it's awesome for solo exping since you can restealth fast enough to actually make use of it, but I have never had it up for an attack that mattered in PvP. Also, note that remorseless works on ANY melee attack dealt to the opponent so you may hit with your offhand before a style adding 100% dmg to it instead of your SS or BS or Ambush. If blizzard made it only effect moves that will give combo points (similar to Cold Blood) and made the timer something like 20 seconds, then I think I would put 5 points into it and not regret it. (my avg DPS with remorseless 3 up is 110.7 or something currently, but like I said, it's far too short a duration and lands on far to many "types" of attacks for me to really devote 5 points to it in retail)

My friends are both making mages for retail, and I think they are right in going the Arcane route. You will have uninteruptable DDs that aren't effected by Curse of Tounges, and your AE will be insta cast with talents. Also if someone manages to kick/interupt you somehow casting arcane, you can always cast CoC to snare or nova to get away.

Having a 47 mage I can say they are a good class, but they can get boring very fast, with the mage its the same old day in day out. My is mostly full arcane rest fire, Arcane is imo the best line there is, but Im gonna experiment with Arc/Frost. Theres alot of controversy over the frost line, some say its the best thing for dealing with melee in pvp and others say arcane is the way to go for dealing with magic in pvp, some say fire is for pve and does ok in pvp.
I started a rogue who is 42 now and omfg I love the class, rogues are so versatile and fun its kinda sick, after playing a 8L5 shadowblade I can honestly laugh at how different the rogue and my sb are. Rogues can go so many different talent rogues its sick. It's so hard to decide what you wanna do etc. Personally im aiming for a assassination/subt build, but I wanna spend 8 in combat for imp bs, imp gouge and imp sin strike. Cold blood and SF seem like awesome abilities, it's so hard to decide what you wanna choose talent wise for a rogue.
Also regardless of the nerfs and lack of attention I love the warlock class best of all, the whole concept of the class amazes me. A lock in the right hands can be a devastating opponent. They have all their talents in, even though the demonology line sucks, but affliction and destruction rock. All they are missing now are they end game pets and a few talent tweeks here and there. I have narrowed it down to 3 class I have to choose from for retail, Shadow Priest, Rogue or Warlock.

I think the majority of my PvP DPS is going to come from Immolate, Hellfire, Rain of Fire, and Shadowbolt. I put the points I did into demonology for crazy iffy situations where I may need to have sacrifice last longer than it currently does. If it comes to pass that my sacrifice is going down, I can pop the instant with the 15 min cooldown and that + the 5.5 second reduction in timer will allow me to almost insta cast my pet as long as I'm not taking damage, which allows me to fear and recast sacrifice >< Also, Shadowburn at rank 6 does 450-502 shadow damage instantly

Arcane is what you should go imo. With Arcane talents you won't be slowed by attacks, so the only things that will stop you from casting are: interupts, stuns, silence/cc, and dying. This means that as long as you have mana you can continually pump out damage. I need a talent tree that is functioning properly to show what talents I would pick. The problem with fire and ice is that they both have casting times. With Arcane it's all channeling or instacast AEs (with talents the channel can't be interupted and the AE is insta) and should someone use kick or something on you, you still have the ability to use nova or cone of cold or something to get away.

Somewhat off your line of questioning, but I've been fooling around with mage talents recently, and have really been playing with the "scorch" spell. And using talents to buff it up.
I have to say, it's quite mana efficient, has lower aggro than say a fireball, fast casting, and will stack scorch DOT and ignite DOT. I am anxious to get some damage adding gear and see just how far I can push it.
Also, we've been running as 2 mages and a priest in SoL, and just ROLL through mobs now. We've even pulled a camp full of even level mobs and just dual aoe'd them to death.
Ideally, I'd like to see 3 mages, a warrior and a priest group, just to see what it can do.
Like Sirion, I also love the arcane line. It's the easiest to play and should fit you well D

Although detractors decry (MMA) as a brutal, bloody form of human cockfighting, aficionados know it is a brutal, bloody, totally fucking awesome form of human cockfighting. -The Onion

Thanks for clearing up that whole combo point thing. I only had limited exposure to talents in the Stress Test since I only got to lvl 18, then they changed it all.
If a rouges crit/evade rate is in the 20 percentile, then Setup/Seal Fate talents suddenly become much more valuable. I found myself playing my rouge with alot of movement, and not spamming SS like I saw alot of the other rouges. Stealth, Ambush, Gouge, BS, SS, SS, Evic was my usual battle order. I kinda wish I was able to get high enough to check out Cheap Shot and see how that works into everything. I think thats why I am more partial to upping my crit chance than combo points. I'd rather go with a massive first strike, but you make a good arguement with getting free points to up the frequency of Evicerate.
On a different subject, I was also looking at Shamans. There was some video of a troll shaman just going house in PvP. Dropping fire totems in the middle of the zerg then using Chain Lightining. I can't wait.
