"We are aware of the bug that causes a raid group to be instantly saved when they zone into Onyxia’s Lair or the Molten Core. The raid instance functionality is *not* supposed to work this way.

Here’s any example of how they should work:

35 players get together to raid Onyxia. They make a few attempts but they wipe-out. The 35 players decide to invite 5 more to help with their efforts. Those five are added to the raid and join the same instance as the original 35. Together, they all slay Onyxia at which point their raid is “saved” for 5 days. Those 40 players cannot fight Onyxia again for 5 days. "

I assume the MC timer is the same as the Onyxia timer, so it should be 5 days. I think that if we get a raid of people, that log in on a consistant basis, that we can continue the raid all week long if we want to, but currently we can't invite anyone new because the raid is saved when we enter the zone instead of when we kill a sub-boss/Onyxia.

That said, I think that tomorrow, when we form our raid, we should let everyone that joins know that we will want to run MC several times over the next few days, and if they won't be able to participate we might think about finding someone else that will be able to. Also, people need to not afk in this place like last time, and they need to pay close attention to what's going on. We need to drop at least one boss this Saturday.

What I posted hinted at that if you have people that Alt-F4 in an instance in which you have killed a boss that you are finished for the day with.. that they keep the original raid party intact. In that when they log in, they don't disband the raid party; they keep it going and therefor can invite people. Apparently, what "locks" people out is when you kill a boss and the raid is disbanded. So in theory you can keep a raid from not being locked out at the sacrifice of not having any boss respawn that you've previously killed for five days. But doing this would allow for further exploration of MC. It's worth a try on saturday if someone is willing to sacrifice not leaving the raid group and being on precisely when they're supposed to be in order to continue the raid.

I guess my question is, How does a raid instance "lock?" When people say their raid instance is locked, do they mean that they can't invite new people, or that they can't zone back into the instance? If it's just that they can't zone back in (with that popup that says you can't enter this raid's instance since you aren't a member of this raid party), then saving the raid by having someone alt-f4 should work fine (that way you avoid getting that message that you aren't in this group's instance or whatever, if that's what's happening). That does nothing though if the instance "locks" the raid group to just the people that zoned in to start with, because it doesn't matter if the raid is still going on or not, when you invite someone else and they go to zone in, they zone into a difference instance... I guess what I'm asking is what they mean by the term the instance "locks," is it locking people from getting back into the instance, even if they are in the same raid and are together after a different day (since their raid group disbanded) or is it totally locking people out of the instance that weren't there when the raid was started?

If it's kicking people just because the raid "disbands" then yeah, maybe we should bring in someone's alt and try it with 39, that way they can alt-f4 with it and leave it there (assuming they don't plan to play it often). The only issue I see occuring is that if someone parks their main there, then we are comitted to doing these raids on a nightly basis, because there is no way in hell someone is going to want to sacrifice their play time (by leaving their main in the instance to "save" it) if we aren't making a seriously valliant effort at it every day.

When I did MC with Obliteration the first time we were zoning into different instances, like 1/2 was in an instance where there were no monsters, and the others were in a fresh one. So i'm guessing this might be the lock, where people from the original group get sent to the instance they were first at, and then the rest of the people were sent to a new instance.

That's what I mean by lock. They can no longer invite to the original raid because it was lost when they originally disbanded so you need someone to take one for the team and log out without disbanding from the raid when you're done with MC for the day. That way you can continue to invite people. Look at it this way.. there's no fucking way you're getting the same people in every single day and Vae Victus and a lot of the bigger clans on other servers raid every day and bypass the lock out some how.. We just need to find out how and stick to it.

See, what I'm saying is, you can reinvite the people that were there for the initial raid, but I don't think you can invite anyone else, even if someone "saves" the instance like you are talking about. I can see someone alt-f4ing to "save" the raid doable if it's going to be the same people each time, but I don't think it's possible to invite new people once you enter a raid instance currently.

Well, VV invites new people everytime they fucking go. So.. there is a way and if this isn't it then we need to find out what is.

Can we please make sure that Obliterated, Evil Dead and Redux actually know about the raid this time.

Amit, the lower the char is in relation to the mob, the farther away he will aggro from. Ive tried to take a level 10 mage out with my 60 hunter, and the mobs were agroing from clip range :/
50 spiritmaster, 50 shaman, 50 shaman, 50 bard, 50 druid, 50 chanter, 50 necro, 50 minstrel, 50 healer, 50 runemaster, 60 hunter, 60 warrior, 60 druid and 60 paladin
