This game is either guild friendly or not. More so on the not side due to the lameness of trying to level in instaces with more then 5 people which gimps the hell out of your exp.
The 5 person grouping does sadly form cliques of people who have similar playtimes and or just always group together like they have in previous games. The best advice I can offer is don't take things personally if you aren't in one of them.
I am the guild leader of my guild and I personally level from 1-45 or so SOLO with my Paladin. Others were in instances doing the 5 man thing getting 2-3 levels to my 1 most nights. I hit 60 in /played 15 days 2 hours and only ran literally 6 times being grouped with my guildies. Mostly this was due to my work schedule and such.
My guild is having the same issue too when it comes to helping some lower levels out and or 60's needing help on something. People get going on these instances and honestly it's hard to pull them out sometimes and in my opinion wrong if they are halfway into it. I constantly see people begging in guild chat for help to go ignored in my guild. Once agian, it sucks to not play with your guildmates, but it won't kill you to group with people from other guilds especially if your goal is getting to 60 and getting exp rather then worrying about items.
I have met many cool people grouping now with non-guildies and such when I can't hook up with my own peeps.
Also, I have made a mandatory PvP for 40+ members in my guild which most are now to participate once a week. This builds some guild unity and keep everyone involved. Not to mention, once a week we go to the PvP arena area and have 5 on 5's against each other and such to get people familiar with their roles in group PvP and to learn their classes to the fullest. It's good times and most seem to be loving it.
I know how BWC rolls. I was guilded for a long time myself in DAoC and rolled a hunter to come play a little with Eirene on BH when I get free time to do so. But in the end you guys just need to realize you are NOT ALONE when it comes to this bullshit. The game wasn't designed for friendly guild functions when it comes to PvE and will only be worse when they cut the cap down to 10 or whatever they are doing.
The other problem I see is WAAAAAY to many Rogues. My guild is literally dying atm as we have like 3 priests, 2 druids who actually play fulltime and even they aren't around all the time. Most nights we have Paladins as main healers and that I am sure you guys know sucks the big one in those tougher instances.
Get it together. BWC owns and always will. Think friendships first and fun before personal gains and everything should be cool for everyone in the long run.
