speed.. you may hit for a lil less damage, but you swing faster, and thus more chances to land a hit, and more chances to deal damage, aswell as keep your targets intrupted.

when i deal with speed vs power, i normally see how much weapons increase my overall addition to my dps.

this can be seen in the charecter screen , mouse over attack power, it should display your power, and what dps it adds to your weapons.

also, right below is the melee weapon damage, mouse over to see dps, and dmage range of your main and off hand weapons (or just main if you use 2h)

If you use primarily skills that are based on a %age of weapon damage (sinister strike, mortal strike, whirlwind, overpower, etc.) then the damage is the most important thing, not the DPS (this usually means high max dmg and slow speed)

I have slept since last Wednesday so as to my spec that will have to wait until I reawaken my game mind and get back to the beach. And you do recall correctly I am a hunter but I was looking at both guns and melee weapons. The only thing I have to do out here at work even related to the game is scan the boards plan my next week of gaming out and write on here. This coming week should be a good one no BS to stand in the way of gaming but sleep which I can get plenty of when I go back to work the following week. :lookround:
Now if Rhuac was a nice guy he could look up my spec for me, but we all know he is not a nice guy.

1 day and a wake-up till I play again.

From a hunters perspective,

I use 2 1 handed Dawns edge axe's

The 1% crit chance from each is VERY handy when it comes to killing things with my gun. As for melee, they are fast enough to wing clip and run to distance to shoot some more. I'm not a melee toon, nor do I think hunters should be.

My end game set (which it seems I'll never get) would be the Dal Rend sword combo, for the 1% crit chance and defensive benefits.

As for guns/bows, I'm really liking my arcanite gun. Slow and it crits for some e-peen popping numbers. I have aimed crit shot lvl 60 toons for 2k+, with average auto shots critting for 600-800.

For me, Its all about the crit chances.

Just my opinion tho

the hard cores will probably use both depending on the situation. they posted some good reasons above to do dps but in cases of fighting casters multiple interupts can be a good reason to go for speed

DPS is DPS - fast or slow it's still DPS. Miss rate will be the same over time, but it will hurt more with slow weapons. Crits will be the same % of time with fast or slow. Fewer with slow but bigger.

Best reason for fast weapons is caster interuption
