I considered playing a pally but they dont seem like a very fun class. Basically it seems like you have to twist your chants which sounds like a major pain in the ass. If I did roll one I would probably go Slash/Shield spec for stuns and guard. Pallys look like a regular defensive tank that has to worry about twisting chants.
Can anyone give me any reasons to play a pally? Other than I'll be wanted in groups for end chant. Do I have to twist my chants to be effective?
Also I'm concerned that I'm the only person even thinking about rolling one. If we are short on pallys we will have no end regen and our 8mans will suck. Anyone else considering pally?

I was thinking about pally but I had one when I used to play though he wasn't very high, i'd just like to try a reaver since I remember them looking pretty sweet and want to try out how they play.
I don't remember having to twist chants as much as I did on my bard that's for sure but I think I did have to switch from time to time. I figure if you're the only pally then your end chant would probably be the one we want up most of the time, though like I said I didn't have a high level pally and I haven't played in a few years so i'm no expert.
If it comes to you being the only pally then I might rethink of rolling a pally since running around without end will just not fly for me

You definately want to twist, thats what makes you uber...lol.
Seriously tho, as a Pally, you are a very tough tank. Your shield slam will be nice for the "train", and of course end chant. Don't forget the heal song. If I remember correctly, it does heal for quite a bit. And, it's not really that hard to twist them together, not nearly like a Bard or a Minstrel. No instruments involved. Basically hit, style, chant, chant, chant, style, rinse and repeat.
Here's another idea dope-head. Read the class boards!!!!!!

The paladin is really strong, easy to level, all wanted in pve and pvp.
Twisting chants is really easy, in pve go heals and end, in pvp, end and damage add, heals.
I played 1 to 50 and its really fun. The only problem is that they dont make enough damage, but its ok, cause if they were hitting as much as merc, then all tanks would be paladin.
Go shield and slash, 2 hand was still gimped last time I checked, maybe they changed it, its too bad cause plate with 2hand sword looks nice.
With plate armor, shield, and heal song, you wont die, you will collect shit loads of rvr points cause you are always the last to die, or the last 1 standing to res your cleric.
Have you heard about the 6 paladin 1 cleric and 1 minstrel (me) group that used to take BWC keeps without killing 1 guard, thats the power of the paladin, it takes all the aggro, and doesnt die.
Hope it helps, let me know if you want to know more.
