RvR in general...

Postby Eirene » Mon Aug 01, 2005 6:48 am

Its crucial we have our RvR set up soon. We need a paladin and minstrel.

So I spoke to a friend of mine on Hib Lamorak (he's the GM of Trip)...
he said most of the people that are rvring either are :

a) being retarded and out there just to kill people
b) Not panning, not being conscious about enemies out there, not spreading out and especially not assisting (He says he has a lot of time to mezz people like 5-10 secs as a bard)
c) Running in green con gear. (They themselves are not in the best gear-most don't have capped resists and he said they went bare minimum to RvR)
d) Not consistent playtime and don't have a mission. He had a plan when they rolled on Lamorak, goals and timelines. They all play the same playtime and reliable. GG he plays Euro playtime because he works at night. They don't use radar. He says most people that do radar assjam all the fights.

So when we have a paladin and minstrel (I know Phill is close) to rvr, we're going to be using vent a lot. Don't be discouraged about not having gear etc. We just need those bare minimum classes to roll out.
The message buck stops here.

You don't honestly believe that a group of people going up against tons of known radar users from Mid alone (not to mention people like Bedlam on Alb) that are bringing in 500+ k each in a week aren't using radar do you? In all seriousness, no smart 8man group came to this server without radar. Hell, my group of 3 got radared down 3 times last night by 2 groups of Mids, and a group of Hibs, I know you aren't telling me you honestly think they got RR5 in a week or so without that to help even things up a bit right?

Jen and I rolled a Paladin and a Minstrel specifically because everyone was saying how important they would be for us.

I know we arent leveling as fast as everyone else, but I am knee deep in remodeling my bathroom (single bahtroom house) from the ground up, so my after work play time has been limited. Staying at my parents house hasnt helped out our progress either. Once this project is complete, we will kick it into high gear.

Jen and I are both setup with Ventrillo at home so that will not be an issue when we are ready to roll in rvr, havent been using it only because we are at my parents house atm.

I really look forward to the day when we are all 50 and are RvRing out there. I have had some of the greatest fun in MMO's doing raids with you guys across the different daoc servers (Andred, Merlin (Mid) and even Palo(Hib))

Just be a little patient with Jen and I. We will catch up. :onfire:

ROFL Jay. I couldnt even imagine how much marble would cost.

Im also going to try and play Jen's Paly more since we have limited resources and she cant get on a computer as often as I can. Going to ditch the necro for now to get us up faster.

:toothy10: As most of you guys know I'm playing another toon While I up Torch's WCing, I think he's 450 now. I leveled a pally to 25 and have come to realize I hate fucking pallies lol. Not really pallies I just have trouble playing tank classes, they frustrate me in RvR. That being said I plan to roll a Sorc because as of Now I think Tiny is our only one. :toothy10:

That being said now that we have a few pallies coming up and I have a full set of level 30 Plate for anyone interested. Send Torch a /t in game or just ask me in /gu.

I really hate to reroll again I just cant make myself level a class i don't enjoy heh. :toothy10:

I believe a RVR guild cannot have too many:
Sorcs, Clerics, Paladins, Minstrels

Unfortunately we are hurting on 3 out of the 4 there. If anyone groups with decent Sorcs, Paladins or Minstrels that want a good RVR guild, give a heads up. I wouldn't mind adding a few more people to fill out the guild. 2 guild groups > 1 guild group imo. I'd rather roll in RVR with 12 than 8 when we face the really good Mid and hib 8 man groups. Alb classes are limited, we need numbers or we'll need to have some luck on our side.

And I look forward to having a couple theurgists too. Nice utility in that class and a great interupter, even against SOS.

RVR will be fun. Glad to be getting close to done on my levelling, though I still need to get gear, and find a armorcrafter, and a spellcrafter.
