Who is doing COV!?
Who is doing COV!?
Who wants to do it? i liked coh but lack of pvp killed it. i can see pvp battles being amazing with the travel powers etc
I might be interested in playing COV. Can anyone give me some info on the game, how long is the grind, graphics quality, amount of lag, etc.
From what I saw of web site, the game looks good and different.
Let me know, and make sure to post a server when the game launches.
And, how many people of the guild would play it.

I liked the novelty of CoH when it first came out, but that did die down rather quickly. I think CoV will be a much better game, but that doesnt mean it will hold one's interest for long.
If they implemented a good pvp system that would make a huge difference.
If a decent # of people play [at least enough to make one super group] Id be more than willing to play a support class.
I used to spend hours just creating characters, they really have a great system to ensure originality.
I'll keep an eye on this post to see what happens.

I just played it COV in the weekend stress test that they had going so don't know how much of the game I actually experienced. Leveling up seemed fairly simple, from levels 1 to about 6 or 7 I just did solo missions which were the quickest way to level that I found. After around 8 I had to start grouping to do the next tier of missions cause they were a little harder and the mobs actually started using different skills instead of just auto attacking. Of course if you're a pet class you can avoid grouping for the most point, at least from what I saw. I think the graphics on character models are awesome, they look really good for the theme of the game imo. The monsters were a little bland as they seemed to repeat the same ones, (thugs, snakemen, cops, and zombie type humans were all I got to fight) and the terrain was ok, thought I didn't try tweaking my settings higher since the stress test was cause a lot of lag as it was.
All in all I think the game is not too bad, I loved the character creation, that was probably one of the best things I got to experience. Also teaming up to do missions was pretty fun, quick, and easy to do. I especially like the fact that you can level up or down if you're grouped with someone who's higher/lower level than you, sort of like DAOC where you get to hit bonuses and stuff if you are grouped with someone who is a lot higher than you. It makes it so the casual people can still play with their friends who may have more time on their hands. I didn't get to play any PvP and i'm not really sure how it works, from what I understand there's zones where both sides can fight each other and others where the Hero's come and try to take down a group of Villian's hideout but not really sure. I think the game's potential really depends on the people you are playing with. If you can have a team of people who you will play with regularly I think the game would be a lot of fun especially in PvP. That's my 2 cents anyways.

Well thanks for the info.
I decided to try it out and see for myself what it feels like.
I will get a copy once the game comes out.
I hope we get a few guildy to come and form a guild there, lets make sure to decide on a server, etc.
From what I read, I would like to go for melee class with kinda vampiric/healing ability, regen, etc. We would see.
Only thing I want to know, are the powers different than COH ?, if its the same, then I can get my info from the forums. Thanks.

I only saw my friend play COH once for like an hour when it was around release time, so I have no clue what abilities/classes or anything else about COH for that matter hehe. But from what I gathered from COV beta there's some classes that fall into similar roles, but I don't think they get exactly the same spell, I think they might be more like DAOC where each side had a pet class, but they each worked differently.
I'm still contemplating about getting the game and messing around in WoW for the meantime, but if there's a few people that are going to try it out i'll give it a shot with ya.
