The Matrix: Reloaded Reviews (spoilers inside)
just wondering what everyone else that has seen reloaded thought about it.
all i can really say is wow......... what a let down.
great action scenes, that went on to such lengths that they almost became boring to watch, all the plot-line given to you in the last 20ish minutes of the movie, and the seemingly "leet new badguys" stealing the show for about... 30 minutes of the 2.5hr movie.
i cant really say this movie was bad, because it seems the entire point of it was to "prepare" or "set the stage" for the next movie; which, imo, is a totally lame way to make a movie. the fight scenes were awesome (except trinity's), too bad they all went on about 5 minutes too long. i was really concerned they would destroy the movie with an overabundance of special effects, but instead, they used "semi realistic" fighting and just used too damn much of it. neo fighting smith in the park, god, that scene was awesome, for the first 3 minutes and the last 2 minutes. the other 15 was totally pointless filler where they abused the great effects they used SPARINGLY in the first movie. after he had hit smith with the pipe three times i started wondering how many more times they were going to freeze frames in that fight alone. not to mention, the first 10 minutes of the movie was trinity jumping out of a building in slow motion...
anyways, the action gets a 3 and the final plot (which actually makes it seem like the third movie may be intersting) gets a .5ish. maybe if they just make the third move an hour long and paste it onto the second movie, then re-release it that way, it will be a 5 like the first movie was.
of course, this rant is just my opinion, and im seriously interested in what everyone else that has seen the movie has to say about it.

Thanks Sirion, I was wondering when someone would post this. BTW mind if I move it to general so more people can see it?

And as a Martial Arts teacher i give props to whoever did the coreography because the different styles were awesome. Neo is a Crane based fighter hence his opening stances w/ the open hands almost beckoning the opponent. And Morpheus w/ the more Northern tiger like style.
But sht wtf do i know why would i want longer fights....I'll tell yah one thing you can always lead a horse to water but I'll be damned if it'll be happy if you kick it in the ass while its drinking.

I enjoyed the movie at 1st fight scene i didnt since ive seen the slow mo shit so much only because after the matrix cameout EVERYONE AND THERE FUCKING MOTHER copy cated there fighting styles, but as the movie went on i really enjoyed it. The plot is very deep now.
those 2 white dudes are there own leet program.
Smith is now part of neo hence hes no longer an agent has his own agenda.
Neo can now use his powers in both worlds, Matrix in matrix?
Bane was contorlled by neo and is the only survivor of Zion????
The prophecy was wrong.
The oracle and Architect are both sides of the shpere
versions 1-6
so many questions ima watch it again with a fine tooth comb since i missed a shit load of hidden info.
all in all great movie.

"Shorter fight scenes are lame and played out. I don't wanna see a 2 min fight where 2 doods beat each other for the fk of it. I watch a movie because i wanna see thought put into every tiny detail of every clip."
this is understandable. but my real question is, how long does neo have to beat the shit outta 30 of the same guy before everyone's already realized, "hey hes still better than them." as a former martial artist myself, i wouldnt be able to stand a 20 minute demonstration of a single person wtfpwning anything. the bottom line is, fights are fast. a 2-4 minute skit is realistic, a 10 minute skit of him beating down smith would have been plenty, imo the fight should have been over by the time he took the pole from the ground. maybe 4ish minutes of hth, and 6ish minutes of staff vs hand, and they certainly could have done without freezing the screen each time he staffed the dude in the face.

Have to agree the movie was kind of disappointing. The fight scenes were good, but were too long and they overused the special effects the matrix has become known for. Frankly, they could have easily cut an hour off the movie and I think it would have been much better. I loved the first movie but this one...this just wasn't up to par, though I think the 3rd one will be interesting.

i can do the deep thinking stuff, which is why i liked the last 40 minutes of the movie. the first 2 hours or so there was nothing to think about... they pretty much laid the plot flat out on the table.... get the keymaker then go to the source.
and i still think they over did the special effects. they were so great in the first one because they were done in tactful scenes throughout the movie, not 10 minutes of slowmotion right at the start, or frame freezes every 10 seconds in a 20 minute long fight scene :/
