Lack of Response in RvR

Postby Bloodfeather » Mon May 19, 2003 5:28 pm

Hail all.

Most of you guys know me as an avid player. I put a lot of time in this game and as far as I know am fairly well known. Those that do know me respect me for the manner in which I lead my guild. I don't cheat and don't allow cheaters in my guild. I am a fair leader when it comes to RvR. I don't presume to know as much about the various frontiers and ways of albs and hibs as certain leaders of BWC and some of the other larger RvR guilds but I know enough to follow directions and shout it out when something is amiss. A trait sadly lacking these days it seems.

Now, on to the problem. I have been told on several occassions that help has been needed in albion. I've just recently finished making the armor that i've needed for a severe backlog of orders and decided to go out and lend a helping hand to this great alliance of mids :) I did a /gc who alliance and as always the list was truncated. I counted out at least 20 of the alliance in HW though so i figured mid was represented well out there. I headed out and got into the cg with the rest of my guildies and friends. I ask a few times where mids were with minimal response, only to be told to stay at RK for more mids to inc. I did as I was bid and waited. More mids came in and we took off, rolled some albs at beno and took off again, here's where the trouble began. The lack of leadership today was very disheartening. I asked the /c group where the mids were at LEAST 5 times. Various members of my group asked and noone answered. I thought I might be in the wrong /cg so i did /cg who. over 40 ppl easily so it wasn't me. My group gets rolled trying to get back over to beno (we'd died in sauvage with some other group from Legio). I figured hell, there must be something wrong with ppl seeing me in /c and so i asking in /as. again, i heard the crickets chirping. I asked about 3-4 more times in /c then as we were running back to beno, we get rolled by 6+ fg's of albs.

In my opinion, and i know in the opinion of most of the leaders of this alliance, that the thing that brought us all together was a sense of hatred for the albion and hibernian realm. The alliance, in theory and recent practice, allows us to communicate the location of any percieved threat and our own locations to each other in a timely manner. To cut this very long post shorter than my temper is wanting it to be, I'm very disappointed at the lack of leadership today and the extreme lack of communication. I hope to see much better in the very near future. Mids are much better than this. I've seen what we CAN do when we communicate and work as a team.

Nice post Bloodfeather. OK, I am going to add some thoughts ~

Everyone has noticed this alliance has lost some steam.

    - CQ always was able to field a group but have left for the most part going from 700kRP/week to 100k or so. These guys r0k and are always welcome with us but for the most part the alliance took a shot.

    - <F> Same as CQ

    - Missionaries We had a falling out with

    - BWC is now split between PS/DAoC.

    - There are not any guilds outside this alliance "tearing it up" so no one to go after recruitment wise.

    - We have two big things still going for us. This alliance is the most respected Mid. alliance on Merlin RvR wise by Albs and Hibs. This is the alliance most Mid guilds want to join.

Aye. I agree that CQ kicked some alb ass. To me, that just means others need to step up and actually relay the pertinant information. /shrug doesn't seem too hard to me to say /c we're at renaris, or /c we're running sw from beno xr. If I would have known things were so badly spread apart, hell I would have taken control (or attempted to) and went out and mauled the albs that were out. We had more than enough people, they were just widely spread out and noone was letting anyone know anything in the chat group. I report all enemies i see, even dead ones, in chatgroups, just to let ppl know of possible suicide spies, various locations of enemies and such. /shrug just my 2cp worth. I applaud your 'patient' response to my earlier post Law. I was a lil miffed to be honest but justified in my opinion.

Bloodfeather, my only suggestion is that in times like that, someone has to step up and take charge. You mention thinking that in your last post. Dunno, I don't play a whole lot on merlin, I hate leveling and have done it too many times on other servers, but even on the RR gundorf led a few weekends ago, I logged in, Gund wasn't on, everyone was standing around sucking their thumbs, so some guy 90% of the alliance didn't know took charge and got things moving and took beno until Gund got on and took over the charge.

Doesn't matter who you are, what "rank" you are, anything. You have to have SOMEONE to step up. Ugnot the second, who only plays other peoples characters, does a ton of leading, as do others, but when they aren't on, just gotta have someone to step up to the plate.

It has happened in every alliance, every guild, that I have been in. The "leaders" take breaks, aren't on, whatever, and the guild falls apart because no one wants to lead. Great times for people to establish themselves.

I say this not directed at you in particular Bloodfeather, as you obviously already lead a guild. It is just a general complaint against the whines of no one was leading. Every single person in the cg is to blame, as any one could have led. It isn't rocket science, just need the organization and ONE VOICE. hehe. Now if there was a designated leader of the alb force, then that changes things entirely, but I didn't see that in your post.
